Jurgen Klopp reveals whether Liverpool FC have FA Cup edge after Man City vs Atletico Madrid

Jurgen Klopp remained coy when asked whether Liverpool hold the advantage over Manchester City following Pep Guardiola's side's gruelling Champions League outing on Wednesday night.

Both Guardiola's men and the Liverpool were in European action this week, but City's clash with Atletico Madrid stole the headlines for the behaviour of the home players. City escaped with a 0-0 draw on the night to advance 1-0 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Liverpool drew 3-3 at home to Benfica to progress 6-4. There is a chance City and Liverpool could meet in the Champions League final, but all attention is currently on the FA Cup semi final on Saturday.

When asked if the Reds are better placed for the semi-final, Klopp responded: "I saw the highlights. We had it last week, before City we had a European away game.

"Travelling is intense. Will it give us an advantage? I've no idea. I haven't seen the complete City game yet but I'll watch this afternoon."

Klopp did add that he was hopeful of improvements on Saturday in comparison to their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Blues last weekend. "We were not at our best (vs City)," he added.

"That would be nice, could be a surprise if all of a sudden we are good. If it's 2-2 again then it's 120 minutes then it's penalties, that would be really crazy to go all the way."
