Jurgen Klopp prediction tells Edu why he must sign Darwin Nunez for Arsenal ahead of Man Utd

Jurgen Klopp has predicted that Arsenal target Darwin Nunez has a 'big career' ahead of him. The Uruguayan looks set to be one of the most sought-after names in world football this summer, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona all thought to be chasing his signature.

Arsenal are tracking the Benfica striker ahead of a potential summer move, understands. Gunners' technical director Edu is in contact with the representatives of Nunez and has shortlisted the forward as a possible summer signing.

The Gunners are looking to add at least two strikers to their squad following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's January exit. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are also likely to follow suit as their contracts run out at the end of June.

Darwin Nunez transfer: £67m fee revealed, Arsenal 'meeting', Chelsea & Man Utd 'lead race'

Now, Klopp - who is preparing his Liverpool side to face Benfica in the second leg of their quarter-final in the Champions League tomorrow (Wednesday) night - has suggested why he would be a good signing for any club. “He was calm for the finish [in the first leg]," he said, as cited by the Mirror. "He is good, really good. If he stays healthy, he has a big career ahead of him.”

It looks as though Nunez will be available for a fee in the region of €80million (£66.8million) if the latest report from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is to be believed. The Italian journalist wrote on Twitter: "Darwin Nunez will leave Benfica in the summer, fee around €80million. His new agent will now meet with many top clubs to explore opportunities. Man United already discussed his name internally - Arsenal wanted him last January as [did] West Ham but Darwin was not for sale."
