Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has been urged to do what makes him "happy" by the man who epitomised playing football with a smile on his face, Ronaldinho.

The Egyptian's future is the subject of intense scrutiny as he approaches the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield. He may have confirmed he is going nowhere this summer, but that does not necessarily mean he is intending to sign an extension with the Reds.

Barcelona icon Ronaldinho's advice for Salah, 29, was simple: enjoy your football and play for a club which allows you to do so. Speaking on a trip to Egypt, the former Brazil international, 42, said: "An advice to Salah regarding his future? The most important thing is for him to be happy.

"Football is a source of happiness and it must be no matter what club he plays for in the future. He has to keep playing football in a way that makes him happy because there's nothing better than playing football."
