Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on Manchester United's top four hopes after Liverpool FC win

Jurgen Klopp has once again admitted he doesn't believe Manchester United will slip up in the race for Champions League football next season.

Liverpool recorded their seventh successive Premier League win on Monday night with a 3-0 win over Leicester City. The win closes the gap between fifth and fourth to just one point, though Klopp's side have played a game extra.

With two matches of the season left, United are in pole position but Liverpool are breathing down their necks. They are also comforted by the close proximity of Newcastle, who lead United on goal difference in third.

Klopp admits he doesn't think United will drop enough points in the final three games for his side to overtake them but insisted Liverpool must be there to profit if they do.

"It's all we can do," Klopp told Sky Sports after the game when asked about trying to finish in the top four. "I don't think it's likely when you see how they (Newcastle and Man Utd) play, they have so much quality.

"It would be a real shame if they slip and we're not there. So we have to do our job. I think they'd have preferred we lose tonight.

"I would in their shoes. I don't think it's likely but if they slip, we have to be there. Will they slip? I don't know.

"Will we win both games? I don't know."
