Julian Nagelsmann's Harry Kane admission could be bad news for Man United ace Cristiano Ronaldo

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has not ruled out a move for Tottenham and England star Harry Kane, potentially dealing a blow to Cristiano Ronaldo's hopes of a move away from Manchester United.

The 37-year-old has yet to feature for Erik ten Hag in pre-season after he was granted leave for a family issue but speculation looms over the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's future at Old Trafford. Ronaldo wants to leave United this summer, though potential suitors have been in short supply.

Bayern are one of the sides to have been linked with a move for United striker, with Robert Lewandowski's move to Barcelona only fuelling speculation Ronaldo could move to Germany. The Bundesliga side have ruled themselves out of the running to sign Ronaldo, but it remains to be seen whether Lewandowski's departure could alter their stance.

Nagelsmann was recently asked about his plan to replace Lewandowski, and one of the names mentioned was England captain Kane. Unlike when Bayern chiefs previous shut down talk of a possible move for Ronaldo, Nagelsmann was seemingly open to the idea of a move for the Spurs striker.

"He’s very expensive, that’s the problem," Nagelsmann said. "But he’s a brilliant player, one of two or three who can play as a centre forward [as well as a] number 10, but he’s very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet.

"He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don’t know the price, but it’s really tough for Bayern Munich. We’ll see what happens in the future."
