Journalist swoons over prospect of "very speedy" Newcastle target playing with Saint-Maximin

Journalist Pete O’Rourke is excited by the prospect of Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr linking up together at St James’ Park.

The Tyneside club are currently being linked with Sarr, who has been one of the Hornets’ better players this season.

According to The Sun, Newcastle are interested in signing Sarr this summer as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his attack.

The same outlet states that the 24-year-old is almost certain to leave Vicarage Road in the next transfer window and is likely to cost more than the £30m his current club paid Rennes for his signature back in 2019.

While Watford have had a season to forget and look on course for relegation, Sarr has been a shining light for Roy Hodgson’s side.

In 17 league appearances, the Senegalese winger has scored five times and provided one assist, helping his team to earn points against Aston Villa, Norwich City, Manchester United and the club now chasing him, Newcastle.

O’Rourke thinks Sarr, alongside Saint-Maximin, will bring speed, creativity and goals to Newcastle’s attack.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: “If you had Saint-Maximin on one wing and Ismaila Sarr on the other, they’d be very speedy attackers and people who can score goals, create goals. And we all know Newcastle fans love to see their team play attacking football.”
