Journalist drops big Arsenal verdict involving Edu's "phenomenal" £94m target and Lacazette

Arsenal target Victor Osimhen is “more suited” to the Gunners than Manchester United, claims Serie A expert Conor Clancy.

He has been linked with both clubs, but Clancy thinks the former is a better fit for the Napoli striker, who he says cannot be compared to Alexandre Lacazette.

Reports suggest that Arsenal have made their move move for Osimhen, with GOAL claiming that technical director Edu had a meeting with the player’s agent last week.

And, according to Calciomercato.it, Napoli have already rejected a £77m bid from the north London club for their talisman.

The same outlet states that the Italian side are holding out for an offer of at least €110m (£94m), which would make Osimhen the Gunners’ record signing.

They face competition from United, however, with Calciomercato.it claiming that the Red Devils are interested, too.

If it does come down to a straight shoot-out between Arsenal and United for Osimhen, Clancy thinks a move to the Emirates makes more sense than a switch to Old Trafford.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Serie A expert said: “I think Arsenal will be more suited to him than United, to be honest, because if he goes to United while Cristiano Ronaldo is there, he’s probably going to be held back.

“If he goes to Arsenal, he’s going to be the main man. There’s no comparison between Osimhen and Lacazette.”

With Lacazette set to leave the Emirates next month when his contract expires, Arsenal need a new striker and Osimhen has been one of the best in Europe this season.
