Jota sees Al Ittihad exit decision made final but Celtic hero inactivity leads to Saudi Arabian fan wrath

There's been swirling talk about his future - but Jota looks likely to be staying put at Al Ittihad after his Celtic departure.

The Portuguese star joined the Saudi Pro League side for £25m earlier this summer but fans of The Tigers have been left furious once again after he was benched by Nuno Espirito Santo for their 2-0 win against Al Taee. It comes amid a backdrop of loan move chatter as Al Ittihad chiefs look to sign another world superstar, with Liverpool's Mo Salah one believed to be in their sights.

Al-Shabab has been touted as a potential landing spot but according to Shoot, his 'fate' will be to stay with his new club as Espirito Santo is not considering a potential exit for one of his big summer buys, having also brought Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Fabinho to the middle-east. But fans are still far from happy with Jota being limited to a 15-minute cameo, that included a few nice turns of skill.

One said simply said "Jota deserves more playing time" but others were searching for answers. "The player came from Europe in his prime. We see a bench for the second match in a row! And it's not coming to you with the small amount you're paying for", is what one asked.

Another supporter aimed their Jota ire at the entire club, saying "Jota is his natural place on the bench, his only advantage is that he is young in age, the entire administration is floundering and responsible." Some still have high hopes for the Celtic hero, with one stating "I bet this gem will succeed."
