Jota on Celtic boozer experience that had one vital element omitted from 'full experience' of Parkhead passion

Jota says it was brilliant to see the passion Celtic fans have for their club as he recalled a visit to Glasgow pub The Brazen Head.

The Portuguese winger raised eyebrows recently when images of him appeared inside the boozer famed around the city, and he later confirmed his visit with a series of snaps on social media. Jota was wearing a retro Celtic kit as he took in his surroundings and drank in some memories at the Hoops-themed bar.

His appearance in the pub came before last month's Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers, where he eventually popped up to score the winner in a 1-0 win. And the former Benfica man says it was great to drink in some Celtic culture, even if it wasn't peak time for his arrival: “It was actually pretty decent. I think it was not the full experience as I went there in the morning. So there weren’t a lot of people there.

“But the people who were there were definitely passionate about Celtic and I could see that. It was just fun to be around these iconic people in this iconic place and just to find out a bit more about the culture of the club and the past.

“We are doing something so the next generation can be here as well. It was very good to be around this kind of environment.”

His next chance to make himself a derby hero comes on Saturday at Ibrox. The Premiership title is already but Jota and co will be keen to finish the season unbeaten against their rivals.
