Josip Juranovic shrugs off Celtic and Rangers pressure as defender insists 'we're only playing football'

Josip Juranovic is hoping to give Rangers a dose of their own medicine at Parkhead tonight as he knows an Old Firm win would be just what the doctor ordered.

But the Hoops ace insisted he’s not feeling the derby heat – as real life medical staff are the ones with the real stress.

Juranovic is happy to go along with the thrill ride in the build up to the Premiership big guns colliding in the East End rather than get wrapped up in any talk of pressure.

This is fun for the Croatia cap – and it would be even more enjoyable if his side can survive this evening’s examination against the champions.

Juranovic knows there’s a lot riding on the result but he shrugged and said: “Yes, but pressure is when a doctor wants to save some lives.

“We are only playing football. We have pressure, but not like that.

“We want to enjoy it.

“Like 90 minutes I don’t think about anything else, just play football. Because of that I just want our fans to be happy after the game.

“We will see after the season.

“I come here and we lift one trophy.

“Then we will continue like that. We will set our goals and we will try to achieve that.”

Juranovic has already proved he can keep his cool in the Glasgow showdown.

The former Legia Warsaw man was thrown in at the deep end at Ibrox earlier in the season when he was handed a start having barely walked through the door.

The Hoops side was hastily cobbled together back then but still were unfortunate to be on the losing side after missing several big chances before being caught by a sucker punch.

Juranovic believes Celtic are stronger now – and it will be a different contest.
