Josh Ginnelly Hearts transfer latest as Robbie Neilson shuts down exit talk amid search for more new faces

Robbie Neilson is still looking to add to his Hearts squad but has dismissed reports of Josh Ginnelly being allowed to leave the club.

The Jambos are still looking to add to their forward options and in midfield ahead of their European campaign starting. They face FC Zurich next Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League playoff round clash, and will either be in the group stage of that competition or the Europa Conference League until November.

The capital club have reportedly made an approach to South Korean forward Lee Seung-woo, offering a three-year deal, but current club Suwon seem reluctant to let him leave. Jacob Davenport was on trial last week but wasn’t offered a deal at Tynecastle. Neilson will continue trying to bring in new faces until the transfer window closes in nine days time in order to boost his numbers ahead of a hectic fixture schedule.

Reports that Hearts are willing to listen to offers for winger Josh Ginnelly are wide of the mark according to Neilson. He explained the wide man’s recent absence from the team but insists he remains in his plans for the season ahead.

“We’re still looking, we’re still trying,” he said of getting deals done. “There’s a couple of names out there that we've tried but these things can take a wee bit of time. There’s still a few weeks left in the window and I’m sure we’ll get the positions filled that we want.

“I don’t want to put a number on it, but I do feel we need a couple of positions at least. We’ve got a good squad here but with the games we’ve got coming up, we’re back-to-back Thursday-Sunday almost through to December. I need to make sure we’ve got the bodies here to sustain that.
