Jose Mourinho: When former Chelsea boss dropped Premier League’s coldest interview

Jose Mourinho’s first spell at Chelsea was a revolutionary time for the Premier League.

Backed to the hilt by one of the richest owners in the game, Mourinho built one of the greatest teams the English top-flight had ever seen as he oversaw some of the headiest days in the history of the west London club.

One of his finest media moments came when Chelsea were going through a bit of a difficult patch and the media felt ‘The Special One’ might just be feeling the squeeze.

Having been asked if he was beginning to feel the pressure, he was quick to remind the journalist about his famous Champions league triumph with Porto before he became Chelsea boss.

“I’m not feeling the pressure, no”, he quickly responded.

“You can not put pressure on me. No chance. No chance. I read a lot of time this week that I have a lot prove in English football.”

“Sir Alex Ferguson is the only European champion in this country. Only one… So I have to prove what?”
