Jose Mourinho 'plots Victor Lindelof swoop' and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning a raid of his old club, with Victor Lindelof the latest to be linked with a move to Roma.

Mourinho has been credited with an interest in Eric Bailly in recent weeks as he looks to strengthen his defensive options in the Italian capital. Now, Forza Roma report that Lindelof has emerged as a target for the Portuguese coach.

United are keen to offload some of their centre-back options this summer following the arrival of Lisandro Martinez. Bailly, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are all available for transfer, though it's entirely possible that Lindelof could push for a move with club captain Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and the aforementioned Martinez all seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.

Meanwhile, another potential suitor has emerged for United defender Bailly. Estadio Deportivo claim Sevilla are hoping to thrash out a deal for the Ivorian centre-back.

Julen Lopetegui is in the market for defensive reinforcements following the sale of Jules Kounde to Barcelona. The Manchester Evening News reported on Wednesday that Sevilla expect to complete the signing of Alex Telles from Old Trafford, and the Brazilian could be joined by teammate Bailly.

Having moved to United from Villarreal in 2016, Bailly's time at the club has been plagued by injuries and poor form. The 28-year-old has mustered just 20 Premier League appearances in the last three seasons and it looks as though his time in Manchester may be set to come to an end.
