Jose Mourinho: Danny Rose didn't hold back in All or Nothing: Tottenham clip from 2019

Watford have terminated the contract of former Tottenham and England defender Danny Rose.

Rose, formerly one of the hottest left-backs in the Premier League, had a 13 year association with Spurs and established a reputation as being a reliable performer for the London club throughout much of his time there.

He left last summer, though, after a difficult few years and joined Watford on a two-year contract.

However, things didn’t really go to plan for Rose, who fell out of favour with Claudio Ranieri and he hadn’t turned out for the Hornets since December last year.

Consequently, the club have now agreed to a mutual termination of Rose’s deal and the 32-year-old finds himself a free agent looking for a suitor.

Now, if Rose’s previous antics when he wasn’t being selected are anything to go by, we reckon the Englishman definitely had a major part in cutting up his deal with the club.

Back in 2019, Rose had a seriously heated exchanged with the legendary manager Jose Mourinho in Spurs’ All or Nothing Amazon series.

“I was very excited when you came as manager, but if you don’t want me to play, I’d rather you just tell me now, and I’ll stay at home, and I’ll train at home.” Rose declared to Mourinho on camera.

Mourinho replied: “Let me try to be as open as I can with you, because I think you deserve that. When I arrived, you played some matches. You were on the bench other matches. I didn’t select you other matches.

“I think this is not what a player wants. The week before Liverpool you were fantastic in training. You were fantastic.

“That made me decide that against the most difficult opponent, you played. I think you didn’t play well.
