Jordie Barrett bow impresses Leinster boss Leo Cullen with the promise of more to come
Leo Cullen was delighted with Jordie Barrett’s first outing for Leinster as they began their European campaign with a big win over Bristol.
The 27-year-old New Zealand back joined the club from Hurricanes following the November international window and will stay until the end of the season.
He came on as a half-time replacement for full-back Ciarán Frawley in the 35-12 Investec Champions Cup Pool 2 victory at Ashton Gate, assisting the visitors’ second try and scoring the third.
"It was great that Jordie got 40 minutes," said Cullen, whose side have lost the last three finals.
"Ciarán went off with a knock to his back at half-time, so it was amazing experience to be able to bring off the bench.
"It has taken a lot of work in terms of getting him here, and hopefully he will play a big part over the course of the season. He is a quality person and a quality player.
Not a bad debut
