As Liverpool fans wait for updates on transfer target Jude Bellingham, plenty were encouraged by a recent move from captain Jordan Henderson.

Borussia Dortmund are understandably reluctant to sell the teenage star, having lost Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland in the last two summer transfer windows. Dortmund reportedly consider the summer of 2023 the earliest they would listen to offers, with an asking price north of £100m mooted, but that won't necessarily stop the Reds testing the water.

Henderson shared a happy birthday message to his England colleague as the Borussia Dortmund star celebrated turning 19, posting a photo to his Instagram stories of the pair together on international duty. While 'agent Hendo' shouts might be a little tongue-in-check, the relationship between the pair could well give Liverpool an upper hand as they look to convince Bellingham to move to Anfield.

Henderson, like Bellingham, cut his teeth in the Championship as a teenager. While Bellingham broke through at Birmingham City, the Liverpool man enjoyed a productive loan spell a few miles away in Coventry before establishing himself at boyhood club Sunderland.
