Jonny Williams issues six-word reaction as Swindon Town defeat Sutton United

Swindon Town midfielder Jonny Williams has hailed the clubs ‘big win’ over Sutton United last night.

Goals from Josh Davison and Harry McKirdy were enough to give the Robins a 2-1 victory in the match.

Swindon also managed to survive going down to 10 men late, when Louis Reed was sent off in the 93rd minute.

Speaking on social media following the game, Williams seemed to enjoy getting all three points.

“Big Win from the boys tonight ❤️ #STFC” Williams wrote on Instagram.

Williams joined Swindon Town on a free transfer last summer after leaving Cardiff City following a short spell in the Welsh capital.

The 28-year-old has featured 31 times for Swindon in League Two this campaign, scoring five goals and grabbing four assists.

Last night’s result leaves Swindon sitting sixth place in the League Two table – a good position to try and consolidate a play-off place from in their remaining nine matches.

It was a fantastic result for Swindon Town last night against Sutton United.

Finishing inside the top six this season is absolutely vital if they are going to call it a successful campaign and edging matches like they did last night will more than do for head coach Ben Garner.

The Robins have now won three in their last four matches and appear to be hitting some good form at the right time of the season.

They still have some tough fixtures to overcome in their run in, but with the County Ground faithful behind them, Swindon could be set to compete in the League Two play-offs come May.
