Jon Rahm OUT of US Open as toe injury gets the better of gutted golf star
Gutted Jon Rahm has had to pull out of the US Open due to a toe injury.
The 2021 champion and 2023 Masters winner had to pull out of a LIV Golf Event in Houston over the weekend and doubts emerged over whether he would be fit to make the big event in Carolina. He said he wasn't sure how he'd sustained the injury which led to an infection in his toe and severely limited his mobility.
And now a gutted Rahm has announced on X: "After consulting with numerous doctors and my team, I have decided it is best for my long term health, to withdraw from this weeks US Open Championship. To say I’m disappointed is a massive understatement! I wish all my peers the best of luck and want to thank all of the USGA staff, volunteers and community of Pinehurst for hosting and putting on what I’m sure will be an amazing championship! Hopefully I'll be back in action sooner than later!"
