Johnny Greville appointed as new Meath hurling manager on three-year term

Raharney's Johnny Greville will be appointed as the new Meath senior hurling manager.

His appointment will be ratified at the next county committee meeting. Greville, who previously managed Kildalkey, will be handed a three-year term, and will be joined by his selectors Sean Corrigan and Tom Shine.

Greville has managed Raharney to three Westmeath SHC titles and also played a huge part in their underage development.

He also enjoyed a successful stint with the Westmeath camogie teams, guiding them to an All-Ireland junior title in 2017 before claiming the intermediate crown in 2019. As Westmeath minor hurling boss, he presided over a shock Leinster championship victory over Wexford in 2015. He subsequently managed storied Dublin club Faughs in the county's senior hurling championship.

Meath GAA welcomed the appointment.

"Johnny has committed to leading the senior hurling team for the next three years, beginning with the upcoming season.

"Johnny Greville brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role, having successfully managed teams at various levels and demonstrated his commitment to the development of hurling. Meath GAA is confident that his leadership will help drive the team to future success.

"Johnny will be supported by an accomplished management team, including Seán Corrigan of Kildalkey and Tom Shine from Kilskyre/Moylagh, who will serve as selectors.
