John Hartson backs Ange's Celtic fixture gripe as smirking Rangers hero roasts 'presumptuous' party planning

Celtic hero John Hartson admits Ange Postecoglou is right to feel hard done by that the post fixture list has denied them a home game for the first two rounds.

Postecoglou admitted he was disappointed that Celtic won't play either of their first two pre-split fixtures at home - which leaves his men facing the prospect of winning the league title away at Hearts rather than on home turf before the final derby showdown of the campaign. Their first home match pre-split won't be until they face St Mirren on May 20 - which could be the first chance for Callum McGregor to parade the Scottish Premiership trophy at Celtic Park.

However, an end of season title party on May 27 at home to Aberdeen appears to be the most likely at this stage - and former Celtic star Hartson reckons the Parkhead side deserved their chance to lift the trophy in Glasgow's east end when the top six split fixture list was announced. Asked about Postecoglou's gripe, he told The Go Radio Football Show: "There is not a lot he can do about it apart from say what he thinks.

"It's the SPFL that have had a look at it, but I totally agree with him. On the back of the season that Celtic have had, they have won both trophies on offer up until now, and I personally would have liked to celebrate and lift the league in front of the home fans."

But former Rangers star Kenny Miller was quick to cut in and spoil the title party chat: "They might still do. They might get beat against Hearts and Rangers and lift it against St Mirren, it's a bit presumptuous to think that you are going to Tynecastle and Ibrox and you'll have it done. John has them winning the league already, not Ange."
