John Fury has warning for likes of Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield over exhibition fights

The Fury name is, for better or for worse, pretty famous in the world of boxing.

Tyson Fury is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and after becoming even more prominent on Love Island, Tommy Fury has continued his foray into the professional side of the sport.

Then comes their father John Fury, the man who is often in the corner and making himself heard. He is never far behind his boys and certainly knows his stuff when it comes to boxing.

That is no longer the full focus though as he is himself angling for some time in the spotlight.

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are the two names that he has brought up when it comes to a potential exhibition fight and was of course nowhere near their level when it comes to life through the ropes.

The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ and ‘The Real Deal’ are two of the most legendary boxers in history. With 94 professional wins between them, surely they would both make light work of John Fury, even at their age and even in a so-called friendly bout.

Both Holyfield and Iron Mike have had their own forays back into the sport in similar events, taking on Vitor Belfort and Roy Jones Jnr respectively in recent times.

“I’m up for it, but they don’t want to participate,” Fury Sr told Metro.co.uk on behalf of FreeBets.

“If the money’s right, why not? I believe I’m up there with the fittest people my age. I’m still on the road, I’m still in the gym, I’m still sparring, why not? I’m 57, so if they’re going to do it, they need to be quick about it.

“I can’t hang on forever at this age. I’m up for anything and anybody as long as the money’s right. Nuisances and dreamers don’t bother applying!”
