John Eustace addresses Ryan Woods' Birmingham City absence amid transfer speculation
Birmingham City have suffered a major blow as midfielder Ryan Woods is set to join Hull City, according to our sister title
The 28-year-old was absent in Blues' 1-0 defeat at Cardiff City after making two successive starts for John Eustace in the Championship this season. Academy youngster Alfie Chang was in the starting line-up, replacing Woods.
Asked about whether his move had been confirmed, the Blues boss told : "It hasn't been confirmed, but obviously I think it was a loss to lose him just before kick-off."
Eustace then addressed whether the club is expected to complete any more signings. "We'll have to wait and see," he added. "Obviously everybody is working hard on trying to do that. We're only trying to bring in players that are better than what we've got, it's very difficult because of finances but everybody's trying their hardest.
"If we don't, no problems, we get on with this group, the group has been fantastic, and we stick together."
Jordan Graham was also absent in the Welsh capital. "Jordan took a knock to his knee on Tuesday, so unfortunately he was injured for the game today but hopefully won't be too long until he's back," Eustace concluded.
