Johannes Hosflot Klaebo and Kristine Stavaas Skistad claim World Cup glory in Tallinn

Sprint world champion Johannes Hosflot Klaebo won his fourth consecutive World Cup event to strengthen his grip on the yellow bib in the cross-country World Cup sprint in Tallinn, Estonia. The Norwegian sealed yet another gold medal with a sensational run that saw him finish in a time of 2:14.35 to open a commanding lead at the top of the overall standings with just two events to go.

Ad It continues a run of 12 straight victories for Norwegian skiers including the World Championships, dating back to January 28 when Richard Jouve claimed gold in Les Rousses. There was bronze for Norway though, as Even Northug climbed the podium for the third time this season to continue his best campaign in the sport. And the Norwegian success continued as Kristine Stavaas Skistad finished first ahead of Jonna Sundling for the third time in four events to continue their late season sprint form.

With overall leader Tiril Udnes Weng defeated at the quarter-final stages, the in-form sprint duo were able to push ahead and sealed yet another one-two. Skistad finished in a time of 2:34.58, narrowly ahead of Swede Sundling, who reached the finish line in 2:34.71.

Swiss star Nadine Faehndrich finished third, sealing her first podium spot of 2023. — — - Stream the 2022-23 winter sports season on discovery+ Cross-Country SkiingSkistad beats the Swedes and Klaebo wins in Falun sprints18/03/2023 AT 16:16 FalunKlaebo continues dominant season with victory in men's sprint at
