Jim Ross says that Randy Orton is the best wrestler working for WWE right now
What you’ll tend to find is that many old-school wrestlers and wrestling figures absolutely love Randy Orton.
For whatever reason, wrestlers prominent in the 1980s, 1990s and even the early 2000s often see Orton as one of WWE’s GOATs.
Jim Ross has shared in that assessment, with the former WWE commentator saying that Orton is the best wrestler working for WWE right now.
Ross may work for AEW as their lead commentator right now, but he was full of praise for Orton on his Grilling JR’ podcast this week:
Randy’s amazing. Yeah, he’s amazing, he still is amazing. He may be the best worker on the WWE roster.
“Pure worker. You wouldn’t get too many of the talents to disagree that, everybody wants to work with Randy. This guy you gotta hope he gets healthy and it gets back in business. But yeah, he was just such a young kid sucking up all that information and knowledge and experiences. I was always proud of Randy’s in-ring he was just a natural as we know and he showed that.”
Orton may not do some of the jaw-dropping offence that many of his colleagues do, but when it comes to doing the basics well, arguably no one is better than him.
Randy was also able to turn himself into arguably the most popular WWE Superstar over the last couple of months, regularly getting the best crowd reactions on the shows he was on.
WWE even acknowledged that, as reports suggested that he was planning for a big Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
However, Randy is now sidelined with a long-term injury, and will unfortunately be unable to wrestle at the big show next month.
Orton has been dealing with a back injury for some time, and recent tests suggest he needs to undergo surgery.
