Jim Goodwin reveals the Aberdeen dressing room message every player heard before rousing Hibs win

Chuffed Jim Goodwin claimed his first win as Aberdeen manager and then urged his players to restore even more pride by gatecrashing the top six.

The Dons claimed the victory at the fifth time of asking thanks to a penalty brace from Lewis Ferguson and another from Vicente Besuijen in their 3-1 win over Hibs.

Aberdeen are still 10th but two off the top six and four off fourth going into the final two games before the split.

Goodwin knows a club of Aberdeen’s stature shouldn’t be in this position but wants two wins and even a few favours if it guarantees a top half finish.

Goodwin said: “Two wins is the aim. I don’t want to think about four points being enough.

“And I feel we can go some way to making amends and giving the supporters that bit of pride back in our team.

“A team of our size
