Jim Goodwin admits managing Aberdeen is 'a dream come true' as new boss makes rousing 'guarantee' to Dons fans

Jim Goodwin admits it's "a dream come true" to be named Aberdeen manager.

The Irishman has been confirmed as the successor to Stephen Glass as he leaves St Mirren for Pittodrie on a two-and-a-half year contract.

Goodwin was among Dave Cormack 's top choices to become the club's 23rd permanent boss ahead of the likes of Jack Ross.

And the former Alloa boss has "guaranteed" supporters he will give everything to deliver success to the club.

“I am hugely honoured to have been offered the role of manager at this great football club," Goodwin said. “I would like to thank the board for putting their trust in me and I will do all I can going forward to repay the faith they have shown in me.
