Jim Goodwin addresses Christian Ramirez fury after Aberdeen sub as he reveals 'open door' transfer policy

Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin has played down Christian Ramirez 's raging reaction to being substituted against Dundee.

The striker fumed as he was replaced by Teddy Jenks in the second half in a reaction which has drawn criticism from the Dons' fans.

The reaction follows a Twitter spat with his own supporters earlier this week.

Ramirez's wife Valerie posted a picture of the young family, admitting it had been "hard" adjusting to life in the Granite City but that she was "so proud" of her husband.

That prompted a supporter to bluntly interpret the Instagram post was a "f*****g off message", a comment that caught the attention of the 15-goal striker in follow-up posts.

Despite the distraction, Aberdeen has eased any relegation worries with Lewis Ferguson 's penalty all-but condemning Dundee and St Johnstone to the bottom two.

Following the win, Goodwin told BBC Sportsound: "Listen, I don't mind. I don't mind that reaction. I think players are always going to be disappointed when they get substituted. He was very frustrated last week not to be in the starting eleven.

"Like I said before the game, I thought we got a good reaction from him in training this week, and I thought that he would get opportunities today.

"He did, but unfortunately he wasn't able to find the back of the net with a couple of them. I thought the Dundee keeper made a great save, in fact, in the second half.

"Look, as a manager you make changes to try and freshen things up and get a reaction. There is no problem there between myself and Christian. Of course he wants to play every minutes of every game, and he probably felt if he stayed on he would have got a goal.

"Those are the decisions that we have to make as as a manager."
