Jim Duffy leaves Clyde director of football role by "mutual consent" amid poor start to season

Jim Duffy has left his post as Clyde's director of football - less than three months after stepping upstairs to the role with the Bully Wee.

The League Two outfit announced at the end of May that Brian McLean would be stepping into the dugout as head coach to allow Duffy to assume the position on a long-term basis.

Duffy was previously in charge of Clyde from 2011-14 and returned for second stint in 2022, taking over from Danny Lennon, which led to their relegation from League One at the end of last season.

A statement from the club read: "The club can confirm that, following discussion with Jim Duffy, it has been mutually agreed that he will leave his post as Director of Football with immediate effect.

"We would like to thank him for his efforts during his second tenure at the club.

"This announcement does not affect Brian McLean’s position as Head Coach, and he will take charge of the squad for tomorrow’s match against Peterhead."

Club chairman Gordon Thomson said: "The Board recognises and accepts some of the constraints faced by Jim, particularly with a continuing spate of injuries to key players.

“He was appointed to the role with a long term objective in mind, but everyone in football recognises
