Jilted trucker threw milk, juice and eggs around his ex-partner's home in bizarre rampage

A jilted man threw milk, eggs and juice around his ex-partner's home in a bizarre rampage, a court heard.

Ian Dickinson sneaked into the victim's home and hurled the contents of her fridge-freezer around the house after she dumped him without explanation. The 57-year-old trucker did not realise that her teenage daughter was in at the time, the court was told.

He downed some gin, poured it over a duvet and pricey memory foam mattress, then dumped frozen ready-meals and chips on the floor of the house. The rampage caused severe water damage to his ex-partner's kitchen units and worktops and most of the cupboards had to be replaced, costing up to £12,000.

Dickinson, from Ashton-in-Makerfield in Wigan, was arrested after the victim's daughter called her dad in a panic. She was asleep at the time of the wrecking spree but was woken up by the commotion.

Before the rampage, the defendant had bombarded the victim with text messages, the court heard. At Wigan Magistrates' Court, Dickinson pleaded guilty to stalking and criminal damage.

He was banned from contacting the victim for two-years under a restraining order. He was also ordered to pay £100 to replace the cost of a weekly shop, and a further £1,000 in compensation.

The court heard he had been in a relationship with the victim for some months before she ended it at the beginning of May. Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said: "On May 7, the defendant started to send her messages begging to speak to her. She initially spoke to him but then she asked him to leave her alone.
