JGM Residential Services U16 & U19 National Squash Tournament gets April 12 date

The first edition of the JGM Residential Maintenance Services Ltd U16 and U19 National Squash Tournament billed for the Recreation Club Ibadan (1902) is to commence April 12 and end on April 15.

This is according to the Managing Director of the residential services company based in the UK, Niyi Oyewumi who confirmed to our correspondent that the date has gotten the approval of the board of the Nigeria Squash Federation headed by its President Boye Oyerinde.

Oyewumi, the first national U16 Squash champion, former U19 champion and the current Technical Director of the Oyo State Squash Association stated that the tournament is his way of giving back to the society and to the sport that has contributed to who he is today.

“I’m glad to inform you that the board of the Nigeria Squash Federation led by the President Boye Oyerinde has approved a date for the first edition of the JGM Residential Maintenance Services Ltd U16 and U19 Junior National Squash Tournament holding in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“This is the first time this tournament is going national and it gladdens my heart that it will bring together young Squash players from across the country to compete and showcase their skills.

“Before now, this had been a zonal tournament for the South West states but taking it a step further to the national level is a wonderful achievement,” he stated excitedly.

Oyewumi further confirmed that the Recreation Club (1902), Ibadan has also given permission for the use of their facilities for the tournament. “The leadership of the Recreation Club (1902) Dr Soji Tayo and the Squash section chairman Akin-Ajayi-Obe has also graciously approved the use of their squash courts for the tournament.
