Jets lose top O-lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker (Achilles) for season - ESPN

New York Jets offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker suffered a season-ending Achilles injury Sunday in his team's 31-21 victory over the Denver Broncos, coach Robert Saleh announced Monday.

Vera-Tucker, considered the Jets' best offensive lineman, has started games at guard and at tackle this season. He has been starting at right tackle after left tackle Duane Brown went on injured reserve, necessitating Mekhi Becton's move from right tackle to left tackle.

This is the second straight season Vera-Tucker has suffered a season-ending injury in a game against the Broncos. He suffered a triceps injury that ended his 2022 season in a Week 7 game at Denver.

The Jets drafted Vera-Tucker in the first round of the 2021 draft.
