Jermain Defoe names Rangers pal Alfredo Morelos his ANGRIEST teammate ever as Troy Deeney lauds star with 'belly'

Former Rangers striker Jermain Defoe has branded Alfredo Morelos one of the ANGRIEST teammates he has every had.

And Troy Deeney has confessed he is is a huge admirer of the Colombian - who can still play well despite having a "belly". Morelos left Rangers after a six-year spell in May and spent the summer in search of a new club before finding his way back to South America where he signed for fallen Brazilian giants Santos - where he is currently sidelined through injury amid the club's fight to avoid relegation.

Former England international Defoe played alongside Morelos during his three-year stint in the Scottish Premiership - and admits he was left stunned by the striker flicking a switch from the dressing room to the pitch. Speaking on the Football Firsts Podcast with former Watford star Deeney, ex-West Ham and Tottenham star Defoe was asked to name some of the angriest stars he has played alongside.

Defoe responded: “You know who’s really angry? Alfredo Morelos, when I went to Rangers?”

Deeney chimed in: “Oh yeah? I like him, he’s got a belly like me. He can still do it with a belly.”

Defoe went on: “This guy, off the pitch, Colombian chilled, walking around with his five phones in his hand, just chilling. On the pitch, he just switches! Angry, he just wants to fight everyone. Even when he scores, the celebration, have you seen the celebration? He does this thing and his face is aggressive.”
