Jeremie Frimpong sends perfect Joshua Zirkzee message after Man United complete transfer

Jeremie Frimpong has sent a message to Joshua Zirkzee after the forward completed his move to Manchester United over the weekend.

The Red Devils unveiled the signing of Zirkzee from Bologna for a fee in the region of £35.8million, which will be paid over the course of three years. The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford with the option of a further season. He scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in 37 matches last season.

After his move was announced, Zirkzee posted a photo of himself on Instagram in the dressing room wearing a United jumper in front of a new shirt with the caption: "An honor. Happy and proud to be part of this club. Can't wait to get started!" followed with three red circle emojis.

And Netherlands teammate Frimpong, who has himself been linked with a move to United this summer, decided to leave his well wishes in the comments section. He wrote: "Joshyyyyyy," accompanied with two red love heart emojis. Zirkzee replied with a love heart emoji and a smiley face emoji.

Frimpong enjoyed a fine season at Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 14 goals and assisting 12 times from right wing back. He helped Xabi Alonso's side win the Bundesliga title. Having impressed, Frimpong's future has come under question with a number of clubs across Europe tracking his progress ahead of a potential transfer.

According to BILD, Frimpong has a release clause worth between £33.6m and £37.8m but that is set to expire this week, meaning interested parties, including United, may have to act fast before his value increases even further. It's been reported that United could move for the Dutchman if Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves.
