Jeff Stelling copies Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth and goes viral

Saturday afternoons without Jeff Stelling simply won’t be the same.

The 66-year-old is stepping down at the end of the season after more than 25 years presenting the iconic Soccer Saturday.

A national treasure, Stelling announced his decision live on air back in November, telling viewers: “I have come to the incredibly difficult decision that this will be my last season.

“This is my decision – there has been no pressure. Sky have been absolutely brilliant with me, as they always have been.

“I am not intending to retire but it is time to let somebody else have a go at what is the best job in the world.”

As the weeks tick down to his departure, Stelling treated viewers to another hilarious moment to add to the collection.

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth and Rotherham United manager Paul Warne conducted a joint interview ahead of Saturday afternoon’s League One clash at Adams Park.

When the interview finished, Stelling had the Sky Sports panel and viewers in stitches after unbuttoning his shirt to replicate Ainsworth’s eye-catching look.

Stelling said: “Two really good managers, two real smashing guys and that Gareth Ainsworth, he’s a trendsetter isn’t he?”

As Paul Merson, Clinton Morrison, Kris Boyd and Darren Bent fell about laughing, Stelling added: “What?! You lot are so far behind, not one of you have got the bottle to get it out and show people what you’ve got!

“Gareth and I, we do!”
