Jed Wallace transfer update with West Brom closing in on Millwall star and Burnley target

Jed Wallace is set to join West Brom with the free agent undergoing a medical at the Hawthorns.

The winger, who Burnley held an interest in but hadn't got as far as offering terms, is a free agent after turning down a new contract at Millwall. The 28-year-old has been a key player for the Lions in recent seasons and was a wanted man this summer.

The Clarets have held a longstanding interest in Wallace, with previous boss Sean Dyche a fan, but Albion appear to have won the race for the wideman with the Portsmouth News reporting a deal is close with a medical taking place today. Wallace has spent six years at The Den, making more than 250 appearances.

Speaking earlier this year about his future, the player said: I’ve never lost sight of that and didn’t jump ship at the first chance. Now I am getting married. I always said from February/March time, I wanted to finish the season – see where Millwall finished, get married and then think about what I am going to do after that. That’s not really changed.

“What I will say is I have loved my time at Millwall and if that carries on I am more than happy with that.

“I think people think sometimes you want to move so you can get a few extra quid in your pocket but it’s not like that for me. “If it was I’d be on a flight to Istanbul. I’ve never made it a secret that I want to have a chance in the Premier League.

“I was playing with one of my close friends Conor Coady for Wolves in a pre-season friendly at Port Vale and now he captains England. I believe I can do it.
