Jeanfield Swifts manager Robbie Holden has selection headache after Challenge Cup win against Kinnoull

Jeanfield Swifts again got the better of Fair City rivals Kinnoull on Saturday afternoon.

The second successive Perth derby took place at Tulloch Park, this time in the Challenge Cup second round.

Swifts backed up their 5-1 Premier Division win with a 5-0 triumph at the weekend.

Goals came from Chris McLeish, Dayle Robertson, Shaun Struthers, Olly Hamilton and Chris Anton.

“I think we started the game better this week than the previous one,” manager Robbie Holden told the PA.

“We got off to a good start with a great bit of quality from Chris McLeish.

“It was a good performance from us and a chance for players to stake a claim.

“Some boys have been away, injured or suspended and Saturday we asked them to give us a headache for next week - I think they did that.”

Experienced operator Anton had not anticipated playing too much this season, with more of a coaching role behind the scenes the plan.

Holden said: “Chris still likes to keep ticking over. He doesn’t really want to play regularly but he is always happy to help.

“On Saturday, with Jamie Reid carrying a knock, Chris came on for 10 minutes.

“That is two games for him, two clean sheets, a goal and an assist so we might need to pick him a little more often!”

Also in the Challenge Cup on Saturday, Luncarty went down 2-1 away at St Andrews. Aaron Carlon had opened the scoring for the Bleachers.
