Jason Manford asked 'do you ever rest?' as he's praised for how he spent day off performing 'assembly bangers'

Jason Manford is often seen as one of showbiz's hardest-grafting characters. And the Salford-born boy has built up a reputation as a thoroughly nice chap.

But when a fan asked him 'do you ever rest?' on his social media profile, it was tinged with emotion. The 42-year-old's latest performance was at an event especially close to his heart.

Jason posted on his Twitter feed on Monday evening (July 24) "Spent my day off giving a bit of #AssemblyBangers at @flackstock with the #NeptuneChoir. Wonderful event for a great cause in memory of Caroline Flack."

Flackstock is an event, now in its second year, organised by friends and loved ones of Caroline Flack's, much missed since her death in 2020. The event, held in the grounds of Englefield House, near Pangbourne in Berkshire, celebrated the presenter's life with acts from the worlds of comedy, dance and music.

And all for a good cause, as it raised money for mental health charities. As well as Jason lending his time, other celebrities were honouring the memory of the late Love Island host.

Louise Redknapp, Olly Murs, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Denise Van Outen were on the line-up, while Matt Goss performed alongside Wookiees for his set.

And when fan Abi Aldous @absteraldous tweeted Jason: "You are genuinely such a talented, beautifully kind and generous man! I love following all you do, do you ever rest?", the comic replied: "Ha thanks! I would love a rest," with a crying laughing emoji.

Others also praised Jason for spending his day off from performing in The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium at the charity event and also for his choice of act.
