Jamie McGrath injury return timeline revealed as Jimmy Thelin explains Aberdeen midfielder's 'really bad luck'

Jimmy Thelin has confirmed Jamie McGrath will be out for the next two months of Aberdeen’s European push.

The Irishman has suffered a shoulder injury against Hearts and will be out until the end of March, at the earliest. McGrath has not long returned from a similar injury but this time it is the opposite shoulder he has hurt. Thelin confirmed: “Jamie is out for a couple of months because of his shoulder injury. He can play in different positions. He's always giving everything. Sometimes you have some consistent pattern injuries, but now we have these shoulder injuries. It's really bad luck. Actually, we tried to save Jamie because of his legs in this game and then after 30 seconds he fell and hurt his shoulder in that game.”

McGrath adds to Aberdeen’s growing injury list that includes Gavin Molloy, Ester Sokler, Vicente Besuijen, Jack Milne and Dimitar Mitov. Midfielder Dante Polvara also misses Saturday's game through a minor issue. Aberdeen got back to winning ways in the cup last weekend at Elgin City and he wants to back it up with three points in the league against St Mirren.
