Jamie Carragher slaps Celtic in three pronged attack as he risks Ange wrath again in 'principles' annihilation
Celtic have caught strays from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher as he escalated his long-running feud with Tottenham boss Ange Posteocoglou.
The Australian is in the midst of a nightmare Premier League campaign with his injury-ravaged squad crashing out of both the League Cup and FA Cup last week while the North London outfit are looking over their shoulder at the relegation scrap after plunging to 14th in the table. The Europa League has offered some respite for the former Hoops' boss - but it has failed to win over Carragher.
Postecoglou has previously clamped the Anfield fan favourite and Sky Sports pundit earlier in the campaign - branding some of his comments over the style of play adopted by the Premiership title-winner "offensive". But writing for The Daily Mail, Carragher has doubled down on his claims - while taking a veiled swipe at Celtic.
The Scottish champions were hit with three gut punches as Carragher explained why AngeBall isn't working south of the border. He wrote: "Postecoglou’s staunchest supporters will argue that to lose so many key players at the same time is bad luck, and their coach is a victim of circumstance.
"The number of absentees is obviously a mitigating factor, and explains why there are many who are standing by Postecoglou, including, most crucially, the Tottenham board. Not many coaches at top clubs would survive such a prolonged dip.
"But in this situation you cannot disassociate the injuries from the playing style. If you stick to the fast lane, you burn through tyres. The reality is this: if you insist on driving only in the fast lane, your tyres are going to wear quicker.
