Jamie Carragher nails Philippe Coutinho performance in one word after stunning Aston Villa display
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hailed Philippe Coutinho's performance during Aston Villa's 3-3 draw with Leeds United at Villa Park on Wednesday night.
The Brazil international scored one goal and assisted another two, but Villa failed to win the game despite his mercurial performance.
Coutinho arrived on loan at Villa from Barcelona at the start of January in a transfer which sent shockwaves across Premier League and so far, he hasn't disappointed.
Against Leeds, he got Villa back on level terms with a precise finish that arrowed into Illan Meslier's far corner, which came after Dan James put Leeds in front inside the opening 10 minutes of the match.
Coutinho then assisted Jacob Ramsey for both of his goals to put Villa in a comfortable 3-1 lead as half-time approached, but Wales international James grabbed a second of his own to get Marcelo Bielsa's side back on level terms.
Diego Llorente then completed the scoring by equalising for Leeds on the hour mark.
But former Liverpool star Carragher was impressed by Coutinho's individual display against Leeds last night.
He said on Twitter: "Coutinho wow!"
The Brazil maestro was forced to withdraw from the game late on but Villa head coach Steven Gerrard hopes he will be fit and available to play against Newcastle United at the weekend.
