Jamie Carragher mocks Manchester United's Champions League chances with brutal Arsenal joke

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has continued his trolling of Manchester United by claiming Arsenal have a better chance of winning this season's Champions League than Ralf Rangnick's men.

United have struggled for consistency this season and are in danger of failing to finish in the top four.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes against Brighton on Tuesday night helped to lift United up to fourth, though they've still got a lot of work to do if they're to qualify for next season's Champions League.

One other avenue into the 2022/23 edition of the competition would be to win this season's Champions League, but Carragher has suggested they've no chance of being crowned European champions.

Speaking on CBS Sports Golazo, Carragher said: "I'll tell you what, Arsenal have got more a chance than Man United [of winning the Champions League]."

Despite some nervy moments, Rangnick's side topped their group before being handed an unenviable draw against Atletico Madrid.

Carragher did go on to admit that they have a decent chance of progressing through to the quarter-finals: "If we are having this discussion with Atletico as well, it’s the same with them.

"I think they lost in La Liga tonight to Levante, who are bottom of the league.

"When that draw first came out, I was convinced Atletico would go through, now I am not so sure, even with Manchester United still being poor in the Premier League."

"I think it’s a real 50-50 game, with both teams really poor in the league."
