Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher admits that even he couldn’t have predicted just how transformative Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield arrival would be.
Appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement in October 2015, Klopp was the latest manager tasked with bringing Liverpool back to the heights of the 70s and 80s. And after reaching the Europa League final in his first season, the German head coach went about transforming the club’s playing style.
Liverpool made it all the way to the Champions League final in 2018, before winning Europe’s biggest prize the season after and lifting the Premier League title for the first time in 2020. His fifth season could yet be the most successful, with his side still in the hunt for every major trophy, having already won the Carabao Cup.
Their quest for the Premier League title could come down to Sunday’s blockbuster clash with Manchester City, with the two sides setting the standard in recent years. The two are separated by just one point, with Pep Guardiola’s side currently topping the pile.
But their dominance over the rest of the division continues to be on show, 12 and 13 points ahead of Chelsea in third place respectively. It’s a
