James Tavernier in final Rangers title warning after Ross County 'out of character' collapse

James Tavernier knows Rangers are nearing Premiership D-day and after being dumped in Dingwall there can’t be another disaster in Dundee.

The Ibrox side’s title hopes suffered a major setback when they lost to Ross County at the weekend to hand Celtic the initiative, although Rangers know they could take things back into their own hands if win their six remaining fixtures. That means three points in their long overdue game with Dundee is a must and then they have to look for a clean sweep from their top-six games, including a win at leaders Celtic.

Skipper Tavernier said: “This game was really disappointing but we have to put this behind us as quickly as possible. We have to look back on it and see how we can improve. We have to react to every single game and show the fans the performance levels they know we can put in.

“Wednesday is a big game and we know we need to rectify it. There is no margin for error over the whole course of the season. Since the gaffer came in, we have dropped a couple of points. Sunday was disappointing because the performance levels were really poor. We have to hold our hands up as a team.”
