James Garner outlines Nottingham Forest ambition that will catch Manchester United's eye

Manchester United fans can’t fail to have spotted James Garner over the last few weeks, and the loanee once again grabbed plenty of attention with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

The midfielder has been in superb form for the Championship side this season, and has played a big part in Forest beating both Arsenal and Leicester in recent weeks in the FA Cup, ensuring he’ll go further in this season’s competition than his parent club.

And he continued his fine run of form in midweek as Steve Cooper’s side picked up their sixth win in seven games with an impressive 2-0 victory at title-chasing Blackburn.

Garner grabbed the opening goal of the night with a calm finish, before Brennan Johnson’s late penalty saw Forest lift themselves up into the play-off spots as they target a return to the Premier League.

And having scored his second goal of the season, Garner revealed an ambition to get himself on the scoresheet even more times before the end of the season, which will no doubt be music to the ears of those at United.

"It was a tough game," Garner told Forest’s website after the match.

"We knew it was going to be tough as they were second in the league, but the boys dug deep and we got the three points we deserved.

"Keinan (Davis) has been doing that since he's been here, he's been bullying back fours so I knew he was going to turn them. He slid me through and I just had to stay
