Jalen Hurts: Philadelphia Eagles head coach notices 'big difference' with QB

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has claimed he has noticed a ‘big difference’ in the performances of quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Jalen Hurts has had something of an interesting time with the Philadelphia Eagles ever since they drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the #53 overall pick. 

When taken with a pick in the 2nd round, there is a good chance that you will eventually make it to be a competitor, or even the holder of the starting quarterback job, and that’s exactly what happened to him, serving as the backup to Carson Wentz in 2020 before eventually taking over the reins in 2021.

Although you can’t talk about Hurts’ time in Philadelphia without talking about the time he was pulled from the last game of the season in 2020 against the Washington Commanders in favour of Nate Sudfeld in what was a ‘do or die’ game for the Eagles’ opponents that day, a move that drew fierce criticism and controversy afterward:

His place in the team in 2021 was far more secure after they traded Wentz away to the Indianapolis Colts and he was able to put up some impressive numbers during the season. 

He passed for 3,144 yards which yielded 16 touchdowns and he also made good use of his impressive running capabilities, rushing for a further 784 yards and 10 touchdowns, winning 8 games which helped lead the Eagles to a 9-8 record and a place in the playoffs.
