Jake White rues lack of Bulls cutting edge after another Stormers loss

Bulls director of rugby Jake White may have conceded that his team wasn't clinical enough in Saturday's 23-19 loss to the Stormers at Loftus Versfeld, but also felt the rub of the green didn't go their way.

Saturday's United Rugby Championship North/South derby defeat was the Bulls' fifth in succession against the Stormers, and speaking after the match, White refused to proffer excuses.

He said certain moments in the game didn't go his team's way but felt his team should be better under pressure.

"It's not nice to come into the changing room when you've played reasonably well, and you've dominated certain facets of the game, and you don't get over the line," White said.

"Conversely, sometimes you get away with it and you don't play your best rugby, but the ball bounces for you.

"I don't want to have a full run-down of the game, but they knock it on, we get and kick it, they charge it down, and carry on playing.

"One ref would blow and say knock on with no advantage and Bulls scrum. That's the margin, but he plays on, Seabelo Senatla gets through and we're under the pump.

"Sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it doesn't. We're going to have to find solutions to how we handle pressure and the only way to learn is to put people under pressure.

"It can't be simulated at training, but I'll get it right and we did well to finish in the way that we did considering where we were, and the cycle will turn."

The defeat, the Bulls' second against the Stormers in the competition this season, saw White admit the Stormers may have the wood over them.
