Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva: Nate Diaz gives his honest reaction, and it will surprise many

Nate Diaz has voiced his approval of Jake Paul‘s showdown with Anderson Silva.

On Tuesday, Most Valuable Promotions announced Paul and Silva will throw down at the Gila River Arena in Glendale on October 29.

Paul has taken the boxing world by storm over the last two years, with the 25-year-old knocking out every opponent he has faced in the ring thus far.

‘The Problem Child’ is now 5-0 as a professional boxer, with knockout wins over former UFC pair Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

However, Silva is expected to provide Paul with the toughest test of his professional fighting career.

Scoring 23 knockouts, including 18 in the first round, in his 34 wins the Brazilian held a stoppage ratio of 76 per cent.

Diaz was asked about the intriguing matchup in his pre-fight press conference ahead of Saturday’s UFC 279 main event clash against Khamzat Chimaev.

To which he insisted that both men deserve credit for taking the fight in the first place.

He said: “I didn’t like when he fought [Julio] Cesar Chavez Jr.

“I think it may have been the organization they were fighting under or whatever, but they were talking like all surprised that Anderson was beating Chavez Jr.

“And respect to Chavez Jr, Senior, all the boxing but why are they [the analysts] acting surprised that Anderson Silva is doing good? What do you even think Chavez Jr. is even doing in there with Anderson Silva?

“They considered him the GOAT in the UFC for a long time, you know? There was no appreciation for that, and I thought that was stupid.
