Former Arsenal midfielder Jack WIlshere says he is impressed by reportedly imminent signing Fabio Vieira with Edu edging closer to a deal for the Porto man.

The Gunners are set for another busy summer transfer window after splashing over £140 million 12 months ago. With Mikel Arteta leading them back into Europe a bigger squad will be required and there is plenty of noise emerging from the Emirates in the early stages of the window.

Midfield is one area that will be a priority. While Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey impressed as a unit there was little in the way of depth at Arteta's disposal. But it appears that a move to solve that is in the offing a with a £34 million transfer of Vieira seemingly imminent.

The 22-year-old is also capable of playing out wide and could slot into the front three at Arsenal too. Last season saw him claim six goals and 14 assists as Porto won the league and cup double. Now, former Gunner Wilshere has given the move his seal of approval but admitted to not being to familiar with Vieira.
