Jack Wilshere Poised For Surprise Move Abroad After Bournemouth Release

Jack Wilshere has finally found a new club after being released by Championship side AFC Bournemouth last summer.

The former England international is set to join Danish outfit AGF on a free transfer, after training with former club Arsenal for the past few months.

The 30-year-old previously made 17 appearances for Bournemouth last season, helping Scott Parker's side earn a place in the playoffs, where they would ultimately lose to Brentford in the Semi-final.

However, despite scoring twice for The Cherries, he was subsequently released last summer, and has been searching for a new club ever since.

On Sunday, Danish reports began to emerge that a move to Superliga side AGF was imminent, which would represent be a great departure for the ex-Arsenal star, who has thus far only plied his trade in England.

Wilshere's struggles over the past few years are well documented, with several serious injuries derailing his Arsenal career after a scintillating start to life at the club. Spells at West Ham at Bournemouth would follow, but he was generally unable to establish himself as a regular starter for either side.

While only Danish media is currently reporting on the move, the official AGF Twitter page has all but confirmed Wilshere's arrival with a cryptic post.

It shows a video of a number 10 shirt, with the caption reading "In coming".

Alongside his early club success, the creative midfielder also enjoyed an impressive England career before injuries began to seriously hamper his progress.

Wilshere has been capped 34 times by the Three Lions since 2010, scoring on two occasions. During this time, he also played for England at the 2016 European Championships.
