Jack Wilshere makes admission over West Brom transfer link

Former Arsenal and West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere has told Birmingham Live that he hasn’t received an offer from either West Bromwich Albion or any other club in England for that matter.

The 30-year-old playmaker has been without a club since being released by Bournemouth during the summer of last year and is yet to have found one that will take him on.

Having had a career that has been plagued by various injuries, Wilshere has made it clear that he is fit and ready to play, leading to numerous links to clubs across Europe – including Albion.

However the central midfield player has moved to pour cold water on any rumours linking him with a move to the Hawthorns, as he made the following revelation recently:

“I’m talking to a few different clubs but not in the Premier League or England.”

Wilshere was hardly a regualr during his final season with Bournemouth and would no doubt be looking for a club that would offer him a regualr starting spot in order to help him build up his fitness.

A player that was once dubbed one of the best talents of his generation, Wilshere will surely return to the game sooner rather than later.

The Verdict

It was always going to be a bit of a far fetched idea for the Baggies to sign a player that hasn’t played a minute of competitive action for the best part of half a year.

Wilshere undoubtedly has a lot of talent but at the same time it is highly unlikely that he would have been a regualr starter if he joined Albion.

He is arguably better off finding a club abroad that will give him a starting spot and a way of building up his match fitness.

It’s hard not to feel sorry for him but at the same time you have to be realistic about these things.
